An estimated 23% of U.S. adults struggle with some form of mental illness, whether it’s mild, moderate or severe. But even Americans without such a diagnosis are unhappier these days. A recent Gallup poll found that the percentage of Americans who say they are “very satisfied” with their personal lives plunged from 65% to 44% over the past five years. Habit changes may be part of the solution.
